Part 2 of our Intuaura impressions, now with the $150 Single DD beauty that is the Plume from the Luna series. This is the one I was especially attracted to in terms of its aesthetics, but how does it sound?
Unboxing experience is very good with a “waifu” printed up front with accessories of the same waifu inside. A nice square pleather case here and some decent amount of eartips there is something I expect for $150 and Intuaura did not disappoint.
Where they REALLY did not disappoint is on the earpieces themselves. Such monochromatic beauties that are some of the best fitting IEMs I’ve worn (with the right eartips, of course). Super comfortable for long listening sessions and perfect for commutes thanks to the stability. The cable is also no slouch with it being a slightly thinner version of the one that comes with the Splendor II and is also clear instead of black. Very good construction overall.
As for the sound, you really can’t deny that Intuaura knows how to tune single DDs because the Luna Plume is one of the most soothing single DD IEMs I’ve heard in this price range. Amazing tonal balance, smooth yet detailed presentation and timbre that could only be compared to some of the best single DD IEMs in the market. The only gripe I have is that it does all that in exchange for techs. I’m not gonna say that it NEEDS amazing techs, but $150 for good timbre isn’t necessarily something that people look for as you can find well-tuned IEMs for less than $100. It just so happened that the Plume is probably one of the best tuned for the price.
