And the award for the longest name goes to… The Dunu Falcon Ultra Meteorite Titanium!
In all seriousness, this Falcon Ultra is something that I tried a couple of months ago that I was not able to conduct a full review due to time constraints, but now I have full reign to review this and I would love to share my first thoughts on these! And with the Meteorite Titanium version comes a lower price tag and a different colorway that is undoubtedly stunning, so let’s talk about it!
So first and foremost, the unboxing. Gosh, that box looks so gorgeous with the pearlescent design that just absolutely looks stunning. It’s a very small box too with what it offers which, spoiler alert: is a LOT.
You get a nice big case, you get cleaning tools, you get Dunu Candy tips, you get Dunu S&S tips, you even 2 other basic ear tips! Dunu is literally giving us EVERYTHING we need in an IEM at $219. Literally the most abundant set of accessories you could ever get at this price range, at least from the IEMs that I’ve tried.
But goodness, it does not stop there. The build quality and aesthetics of the FUMT (that’s the abbreviated name just go with it) is absolutely top-notch. A full aluminum shell that feels more premium than some kilo buck IEMs, has an INSANELY comfortable fit due to it being on the smaller side and a premium feeling modular cable. I literally could not ask for more even if I wanted to with what the FUMT offers as a package. I guess my only gripes would be the connection being MMCX (ew) and the cable feeling a little stiff and tangle-prone to my liking. But beggars can’t be choosers when you literally get the best of the best for the price.
And finally, sound. You may think they gave you all that to butter you up for a mediocre-sounding IEM. But the truth is, this sounds fantastic! When we’re talking single DD IEMs, the Falcon Ultra has always been in my top 5 list due to how mature yet fun-sounding this is, and it has stayed the same with the FUMT. The bass is thick, punchy, and engaging, the mids are hella natural and rich sounding and the treble is crisp yet smooth with a very natural-sounding decay. Technicalities are probably the weakest point of the FUMT, but it doesn’t try to sound like a technical set. Better yet, it even comes with another tuning nozzle that turns this into the warmer, silkiest, and smoothest sounding IEM that doesn’t sacrifice on clarity and detail.
Despite the Falcon Ultra Meteorite Titanium not entirely fitting my tastes in IEMs, I can’t deny that if you’re looking for a fully loaded, fun yet safe-sounding IEM with superb build and fit, the Falcon Ultra Meteorite Titanium is probably the best to do it for $219. I cannot think of an IEM that does what the FUMT achieves and that’s an achievement all on its own. And you bet it’s just all praises from here as I create my full review, so stay tuned!
