Kefine! A brand I’ve been looking at for quite some time has finally arrived at my doorstep and I have spent a couple of hours with this thing. I really wanted to know if this was really worth the hype and, spoiler alert, I believe that it is! So let me tell you my first impressions with these.
Starting with the unboxing and inclusions, it’s honestly pretty basic for $75. The case is admittedly nice but the tips are pretty meh.
Build-wise, this thing is a beauty. It’s a very basic design but executed with such finesse in the groves and especially the construction. It’s a matte metal finish that I am confident to throw in my bag. The fit is very reminiscent of Simgot IEMs but fits just a little bit deeper and a little bit more secure.
The cable is fine but I no longer fancy these kinds of braided cables due to their stiffness and tangle-prone nature. It looks really good and fits the Delci well, but it has the tendency to tangle up and be memory prone.
Where the Delci stands out from the crowd is its sound. Despite following a rather familiar u-shaped tuning, the Delci spices it up by putting the emphasis in the lower end without sacrificing midrange and top-end clarity. This has the effect of making it a very versatile set as I have spent hours on shuffle with my test playlist and I have not skipped a single track. The bass is thick yet clean and it honestly baffles me how they were able to keep it this clean. It’s genuinely addicting to listen to really nice basslines with the Delci as it’s able to present them in such a rich yet tight manner. However, it does have one teeny tiny flaw in its tuning which, depending on your music, tips, or source, might bring out the rather odd peak in the treble region. This could be the limitations of the driver, but I found that there was an audible mid treble peak that dips down and gives that rather grainy sound due to the contrast from having a lot of energy to immediately rolling off in the upper treble. This is mostly evident with the stock tips which evidently forced me to tip roll to which the sound was improved slightly. But despite this, the Delci’s overall tuning is so nice and versatile that the small flaw in the treble is easily dismissable as it’s one of the better warm U-shaped sets I’ve heard under $100!
