Today, we’ll be taking a look at one of Rose Technics flagship hybrids, the QT-X. This is priced at $339 for the value pack and $439 for the deluxe pack. We’ll be taking a look at the deluxe pack for this behind the box.
Rose Technics maintains the flagship level unboxing experience on the deluxe pack with a plethora of accessories including a 9039 DAC worth $70. The accessories aren’t low quality either and are the most complete you can get.
The build quality is your usual resin shell with a beautiful purple color on my unit. I was expecting the fit to be better, but the nozzle is a bit odd and doesn’t fit as snug and seal as well as I wanted it to. Comfort can be hit or miss depending on the shape of your ear, but smaller ears will not enjoy the fit of the QT-X. I’m not the biggest fan of the cable as it’s microphonic and stiff.
As for the sound, the QT-X has a bright U-Shaped sound signature with emphasis on the upper mids and treble. It’s a very energetic sounding IEM that excels in vocal centric tracks but not so much on revealing and brighter mixed tracks. The highlight of the IEM is its superb technical ability, particularly in the separation, layering and headstage. It’s class leading in that regard, in exchange for timbre and musicality. This is an IEM that emphasizes details over smoothness and warmth.
