The DK3001 BD is a rather eye-catching set with its “hyperdream” design that looks really good with the Hiby R4’s cyberpunk design. MMCX is a bummer but I also know I’ll never remove the cable on these so unless something bad happens, the MMCX will be fine.
These have a vibrant and very energetic sound that emphasizes the details and treble of the music you listen to. The bass is subbass focused and a tuck in the mids may seem like it’d sound very thin, but that hump in the midrange akin to the KE4 keeps the mids sounding full which surprised me. Technicalities are out of this world with some of the best separation and layering I’ve heard in a midrange IEM. Unfortunately, I found the dynamics to be a little bit too soft and not very tactile especially in the bass region.
Regardless, this is a treblehead’s dream of an IEM and I’ve spent so much time listening to jazz and vocal pop in the last couple of days with these.
