The Q5 got upgraded with a new look, connector and new tuning (apparently) while keeping the sub $60 price!
Before I start, however, I found a bit of a discrepancy for the Q5 Pro’s measurements across multiple rigs. My Q5 Pro measures almost exactly like the OG Q5, but with less bass. Basking Shark’s, on the other hand, measures with considerably more bass. Looking at other measuring rigs yields similar impressions, so it’s a bit hard to pinpoint one single measurement.
However, the SIAS Q5 Pro I listened to sounded brighter than the Q5 on the same event while the Q5 and Q5 Pro that I have here at home is a tad bit closer with the Q5 Pro just being very slightly leaner. However, I did find my Q5 Pro to be a more refined sounding Q5 as the edginess is lessened while keeping the brightness controlled and crisp. But thank God no more MMCX!
