Kotori has released their first hybrid IEM with the Zephyr, also their most expensive IEM priced at $150.
This has a near immaculate low to mid presentation that follows my personal target REALLY well. I genuinely enjoyed how the low end looks on the graph here. Initially, I thought the treble wouldn’t be too bothersome considering the low mids tuning. However, listening experience faired differently as the 4k peak was VERY audible with how generous the lower to mid tuning is. It kind of sticks out like a sore thumb in a way, but it still has such a unique tone to it that I can’t totally fault the sound. I will fault the rather distinct metallic timbre, however, as that was one of the first things I noticed about the Zephyr
Regardless, this is a super interesting IEM that made me happy knowing that not all brands try to tune based on targets and tune based on their preferences.
