WATCH EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SIMGOT EA1000: https://youtu.be/AD0EIB6Ying
Come with me as I share my impressions on the Simgot EA1000, “Fermat”. This is Simgot’s update to the EA series of IEMs and features the amalgamation of the features that preceded it like tuning nozzles and a passive radiator. Could this be the peak of Simgot, or does it fail to live up to the hype that their previous sets have presented? Let’s find out!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
- Minimalist, clean but presentable unboxing experience with a unique theme
- Decent set of accessories but it could definitely use a little bit more inclusions
- Very premium build quality on both the earpiece and cable front with decent fitting and isolation
- Slight U-Shaped leaning bright sound signature
- Thick, tactile but tight bass presentation
- Organic, nuanced and rich midrange
- Sparkly, resolving but non-sibilant treble
- Superb technicalities for a single DD*
Something that I’ve mentioned in my previous posts is the EA1000 being the love child of the EA2000 and EA500 and I stand by that completely. I’d even go as to say as this is what peak Simgot sounds like, but I’d like to expound more on that in a bit.
The EA1000 genuinely features some of the best qualities of the EA2000 and EA500 put into a single, feature-rich set with some of the best quality bass I’ve heard in an IEM under $300. It just sounds so rich and thick unlike anything I’ve heard before yet it doesn’t sound bloated or muddy. It’s tight, it’s well-defined and it can get you crunching up your face on funky riffs. Maybe you could blame that PR for that or that new driver with a really long name, but regardless it brings a bass quality that I’ve not heard before.
But obviously, the bass isn’t what makes Simgot sets stand out. It’s the balance of the sound to which the EA1000 strikes said balance almost to a T. You might find the mids a little bit too warm or the treble to be a little too forward, but I would say that those two qualities allow for a smooth yet very resolving listen to that makes it such a treat to listen to, even for long periods of time.
While this is not the most technical set by a mile, it still achieves a solid sense of separation and layering for having a single dynamic. Instead, it focuses on providing such a dynamic and resolving listening experience that hits that yin and yang of musicality and detail.
I have so much more I want to say about the EA1000, but I want to keep these impressions short because this is a set that I’m genuinely impressed by. Sets nowadays seem to be a little bit stale and uninspiring with certain exceptions, and the EA1000 is one of those exceptions. It’s no perfect set, but it’s the closest to perfect in my book under $300.
